Alisha Cramer

Alisha is a final year PhD student currently studying structure-property relationships in three-dimensional framework crystalline and glassy materials that have potential for nuclear waste storage, and environmental clean-up. Suitability of these materials is investigated by X-ray diffraction, pair distribution function analysis, and void space analysis via graph theory.

Alisha earned her MSc in astrophysics from the University College London, where her main area of research was atmospheric physics. Her research project focused on creating a first-approximation model of the thermosphere/ionosphere of Uranus to try to determine heat and wind flow patterns that might explain the unexpectedly high temperature of Uranus's upper atmosphere.
