Apoorv was a PhD student investigating the materials discovery of ruthenium based photoisomers that can act as molecular transducers. This involved experimental techniques but was mainly computational with a focus on machine learning.

Apoorv joined the group having graduated from the University of Manchester where he received a MEng in Chemical Engineering. His final year project was a computational study on developing and modeling molecular interactions for a polymer-surface system using molecular dynamics.
