Jose D.J. Velazquez-Garcia

Jose is a third year PhD student working on the development of new photoisomerisable metal complexes as molecular motors and the evolution of them into light harvesting metal organic frameworks (MOFs). More specifically, he is investigating a series of ruthenium(II)tetrammine complexes whose photoactive properties leads to molecular transduction.

Jose graduate from IPN in Mexico with a first-class honours degree in Chemical Engineering. He earned a MSc in Materials Science, where the research project was focused on the production of composites deposits of Stainless steel/Alumina against the abrasion.
