Jose D.J. Velazquez-Garcia

Jose was a PhD student working on the development of new photoisomerisable metal complexes as molecular motors and the evolution of them into light harvesting metal organic frameworks (MOFs). More specifically, he investigated a series of ruthenium(II)tetrammine complexes whose photoactive properties lead to molecular transduction.

Jose graduated from IPN in Mexico with a first-class honours degree in Chemical Engineering. He earned a MSc in Materials Science, where the research project was focused on the production of composites deposits of Stainless steel/Alumina against the abrasion.
