Samila McDonald

Dr. Samila McDonald worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate jointly supported by the University of Cambridge and the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation, Australia (ANSTO). She was based in the Australian Centre for Neutron Scattering (ACNS) at ANSTO and her project focused on using X-ray and neutron reflectometry to investigate dye anchoring in dye-sensitized solar cells.

Samila joined our group from the University of Newcastle, Australia, where she completed both her undergraduate and doctoral degrees. Her PhD research investigated bulk and interfacial nanostructure of ionic liquids and deep eutectic solvents using small angle neutron scattering, neutron diffraction and atomic force microscopy to understand how liquid nanostructure determines their properties.
