Sven Sylvester

Sven completed his PhD investigating the photo-induced molecular structure of linkage isomerism complexes. These materials have applications across the optoelectronic industry, but most specifically in holographic data storage. These structures were primarily probed with X-ray diffraction and X-ray absorption spectroscopy, with complimentary optical absorption and emissions spectroscopy. Some density functional theory (DFT) modelling was also done.

Sven was born and grew up in Sydney, where he completed a BSc in nanotechnology at the University of New South Wales, with an Honours thesis focussed on photoswitchable self-assembled monolayers.
